Heads up, drivers! Major overnight closures are scheduled for a key stretch of the A14 near Newmarket, and you'll want to know about it. National Highways is gearing up for more work on the eastbound carriageway, specifically between junctions 35 and 39.
The closures are planned to take place overnight, from 9 PM to 6 AM, starting Monday and running through Friday, January 30th. That means if you're a night owl or an early bird, you might be affected.
Here's how National Highways plans to reroute traffic:
For A14 Eastbound Traffic (at junction 35):
- Exit the A14 at junction 35.
- At Quy Interchange, take the first exit onto the A1303.
- At the next roundabout, take the second exit onto A1304 (Barbara Stradbroke Avenue) and continue through Newmarket.
- Turn onto the B1506 (Well Bottom) and follow it onto Bury Road.
- Rejoin the A14 at junction 39.
For A11 Traffic (at the A1304 junction):
- Continue along the A1304 London Road.
- At the roundabout, take the third exit onto Barbara Stradbroke Avenue and continue through Newmarket.
- Rejoin the A11 via the fast link entry slip road.
Just last month, similar work was completed on the same stretch of the A14.
